Samsung's Galaxy S21 line of smartphones gets a security update for June in select countries in Asia, Europe and the US
Samsung continues to keep its devices up to date with patches and now a new, June security update is available for the 2021 Galaxy S21 flagship.
Here's What We Know
The update is currently available in Asia, Europe and the US. The new software for the Galaxy S21 series is now rolling out in several Asian countries including Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, Thailand, Philippines, Vietnam. Ukraine and the Caucasus region of Europe are also receiving the update. In these regions, the June update is numbered G99xBXXSBGXEC.
In the US, the entire carrier-bound Galaxy S21 lineup is receiving the update with firmware version G99xUSQSBGXF1. Factory unlocked devices get a new firmware update with firmware version G99xU1UESBGXF1.
The June 2024 security patch fixes 59 vulnerabilities found in Android as well as the One UI software for the S21 series. Apart from the device security update, no other improvements are expected in this update.
