Missiles for Patriot, NASAMS and HAWK: US reveals details of new $2.3Mdr military aid package for the AFU
The USA has announced a new military aid package for the Ukrainian Armed Forces and revealed what weapons it includes.
Here's What We Know
So, the new package is designed for $2.3 bn. It will be divided into two parts. The first one for $150 mn will be allocated from the warehouses of the US Army. We're talking about:
- Missiles for HAWK SAMs;
- Ammunition for HIMARS;
- 155mm and 105mm artillery shells;
- 81mm mortar rounds;
- TOW missiles;
- Javelin and AT-4 anti-tank systems;
- Small arms ammunition and grenades;
- Explosive equipment and ammunition;
- Tactical vehicles;
- Tactical air navigation systems and aircraft support equipment;
- Spare parts, maintenance and other field and support equipment.
These weapons are to be transferred to the AFU in the coming days and weeks.
The remaining $2.2 mdrd will be allocated to purchase interceptor missiles for Patriot and NASAMS SAMs from local companies. This usually takes time, but now the US has put Ukraine on the priority list. Therefore, the first deliveries should also start soon.
