The official announcement of roguelike action game [Redacted], an experimental game in the universe of The Callisto Protocol, has taken place

At the beginning of March 2024, Striking Distance studio surprised with the announcement that an experimental roguelike action game is in development, the events of which are set in the universe of the space horror The Callisto Protocol.

Today the developers officially presented the game.

Here's What We Know

The project is called [Redacted] - and there is no mistake here, the name of the game looks exactly like that.

The events of [Redacted] unfold in the Black Iron prison, where the plot of The Callisto Protocol developed, but the main character will be an ordinary guard, who must get to the escape pod and leave the prison.

On his way the protagonist will meet the same monsters as Jacob, but the gameplay will be much more dynamic and in case of hero's death the game will not restart from the checkpoint, but will start, in fact, from the beginning - as it should be in roguelike games.

It is noteworthy that the killed character turns into a dangerous bloodthirsty monster and in order to restore the lost progress, the player must kill (in fact) himself.

In [Redacted] provides a lot of modifiers and items that affect gameplay, so each playthrough will be unique.

Note that the visual design of [Redacted] is much more colourful than that of The Callisto Protocol and is done in comic style.

It 's funny that shortly before the announcement of [Redacted] Great gift from EGS: everyone can get The Callisto Protocol space horror game from the creator of the iconic Dead Space. We can assume that these events coincided for a reason.

When We Can Expect It

[Redacted] will be released on 31 October on PC(Steam, EGS), PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series.

On PlayStation 5, pre-orders will open on 18 September.
