Here's What We Know
The Defence Logistics Agency has signed contracts for the purchase of UAVs from several companies in the Baltic region, including reconnaissance drones from Latvia's Edge Autonomy, drones from Estonia's Threod Systems, and quadcopter drones from Lithuania's Deftools.
According to the ministry's press release, the majority of these UAVs will be delivered this autumn, with the remaining units expected to be delivered in early 2025.
"The acquisition and deployment of UAVs is one of the priorities for having modern armed forces," the ministry said.
It is worth noting that the Lithuanian government plans to allocate approximately €200 million for the purchase of all types of UAVs by 2030, an average of about €30 million per year.
