Ilon Musk has announced the launch of a new X TV app for smart TVs, but it's still in beta test

Ilon Musk has launched a new X TV app designed for streaming on smart TVs. The X TV app, which is in beta testing, offers users a hybrid platform that combines live streaming and viral videos.

Here's What We Know

The app is currently available on Google Play, the LG app shop and the Amazon App Store, making it available on Amazon Fire TV, LG webOS, Android TV and Google TV devices. Users have access to completely free content for now, which also includes exclusive content, live streams and news.

Among X TV's features are the ability to save up to 72 hours of content with Replay TV, start watching live TV from the beginning with Startover TV and record up to 100 hours of content at no additional cost with the free DVR cloud. An X account is required to use the app. The app is slowly rolling out and it's not yet known when it will be out of beta testing.
