A dream of PC gamers may soon come true: after a Rockstar Launcher update, there is a mention of the Steam version of Red Dead Redemption in it
For many years, gamers have been dreaming about the release of Red Dead Redemption on PC, but Rockstar studio remains deaf to the public's requests and even the remaster of RDR came out (in 2023) only on PlayStation and Nintendo Switch. But it looks like a PC port is still in the company's plans.
Here's What We Know
The developer released an update for GTA V that added a new anti-cheat, and Rockstar Launcher was updated at the same time.
Insider and dataminer Tez2 claims that after the patch there was a mention of the RDR code for the Steam database, and this may indicate that Rockstar is close to releasing a full PC version of the cult western, which is currently available outside of consoles only through dubious emulators and other third-party programs that you still need to know how to work with.
Rockstar accidentally included the metadata for #RDR1 PC with today's launcher update too.

Tez2 previously reported that the release of RDR on PC will happen in the foreseeable future, but now it looks like it could happen even before the end of 2024.
Recall, Red Dead Redemption was released in 2010 and is still considered not only one of the best projects of Rockstar, but also stands out among the games in the Wild West setting.
