Google is testing blue ticks for search results

Google is experimenting with the introduction of blue checkmarks in search results to help users determine the reliability of companies. These check marks will appear next to links to verified companies and are an extension of the brand indicators feature already used in Gmail.

Here's What We Know

According to The Verge, some users have already started to see these checkmarks next to links to the official websites of companies such as Microsoft, Meta, Apple, Amazon, and HP. However, the experiment has not yet been widely implemented, and in some cases, the ticks disappeared after changing the account.

A Google spokesperson confirmed that the company regularly tests new features to help consumers find trustworthy sources online. When users hover over the checkmark, a window appears warning that Google cannot guarantee the reliability of the company.

Google has not yet officially announced the feature.
