A reputable insider is convinced that a remake of the shooter Halo: Combat Evolved is in development and is sure that it will be presented to the public soon
In the early summer of 2024, a rumour surfaced online that Microsoft was developing another remaster of the shooter Halo: Combat Evolved, which would also be released on PlayStation 5.
The game was supposed to be unveiled at the Xbox Games Showcase, but that never happened, and in the intervening time Microsoft hasn't even made a hint of announcing such a re-release. But that doesn't mean that work on a remaster/remake of the cult shooter is not underway.
Here's What We Know
A few days ago on the XboxEra podcast, famous insider Shpeshal_Nick claimed that Halo fans will get a new game in the near future, but due to the confusing statements many people realised that he was referring to a sequel to Halo Infinite, however this is not the case.
Shpeshal_Nick posted a clarification saying that he was specifically talking about the remake of Combat Evolved, the very first Halo instalment released by Bungie in 2001 and re-released in 2019 as part of Halo: The Master Chief Collection. Back then, studio 343 Industries ported the shooter to its own engine and made significant technical improvements.
I think I got mixed up with my Halo projects here.

I went back through an old DM conversation about the game I thought I was referring to here and it wasn't the "next mainline" Halo. It turns out it was CE Remake
Apologies for the mix up. Wasn't my intention to mislead here. https://t.co/MmgNnS4NUN
The insider knows that the updated game will be released much earlier than many gamers expect, but when exactly that will happen - Shpeshal_Nick did not specify, but he is sure that the studio 343 Industries, which as of last week is called Halo Studios, is working on such a project.
