Meta cuts again: the company is reorganising WhatsApp, Instagram and Reality Labs teams
Most IT giants continue to actively reduce their staff and, unfortunately, this has not bypassed Meta.
Here's What We Know
According to The Verge sources familiar with the state of affairs in Meta, this time the company is not announcing a large-scale wave of layoffs, as it was in autumn 2022, when 11 thousand employees lost their jobs, and later another 10 thousand people were cut. Meta is now reorganising.
This process is taking place in such divisions as WhatsApp, Instagram and Reality Labs and implies not only the transfer of employees to other departments, but also the dismissal of some of them. They have started to announce this on their social media accounts.
Meta spokesperson Dave Arnold commented on the situation as follows:
'Today, several teams at Meta are making changes to ensure that resources are aligned with their long-term strategic goals.
In situations like this, where a certain position is being eliminated, we work hard to find other opportunities for the affected employees.
