Samsung is switching to Snapdragon chips for the Galaxy S25 and S26, but promises a return to Exynos in 2027

Today, a well-known Ice Universe whistleblower revealed on his social media accounts that Samsung will exclusively use Snapdragon 8 Elite chips in all Galaxy S25 models. This insider also shared that the trend will continue into 2026 with the Galaxy S26 series, which will also feature Snapdragon chips.

However, Samsung is not giving up on its Exynos chips. The company is developing a new generation of Exynos processors, codenamed "Ulysses", which are planned to be used in the Galaxy S27 series coming in 2027. These chips will be manufactured using Samsung Foundry's 2nm process, which will be ready by the end of 2026.

Previously, the Galaxy S25 and Galaxy S25+ were planned to use the 3nm Exynos 2500 chip, but due to production issues, Samsung had to switch to Snapdragon 8 Elite. The company hopes to regain consumer confidence in the Exynos brand with Project Ulysses and avoid production issues with the new chips.
