France will train and arm another brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, in addition to the one it is currently training

Ukraine has agreed with the French government to equip another army brigade with French weapons.

"We are in the third year of a full-scale war, and our soldiers on the front line need to be restored. That is why we are urgently working to equip our brigades. We are already cooperating: France has equipped one brigade, and we have an agreement on another," President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.

As a reminder, France is currently training 2,300 Ukrainian servicemen in the newly created 155th Mechanised Brigade named after Anna Kyivska. The country is also providing equipment, providing armoured vehicles, artillery and other weapons to equip the unit.

The President also said that another unnamed brigade would receive similar equipment, probably one of the new 160th series brigades, the formation of which began in August this year.

In addition, Zelenskyy proposed to implement the Northern Brigade project. This involves Scandinavian countries training and equipping a Ukrainian battalion.
