Biden administration plans to send $6bn to Ukraine 'immediately' before Trump's inauguration

The administration of the current US President Joe Biden plans to urgently allocate the remaining $6 billion of this year's funds to help Ukraine.

Here's What We Know

The White House wants to do this before Donald Trump's inauguration, which is scheduled for 20 January 2025. The move is prompted by fears that the newly elected president will stop supplying arms to Ukraine.

"Joe Biden's administration plans to send the last $6 billion in remaining security assistance to Ukraine 'urgently' before Donald Trump's inauguration," Politico reported.

This plan, according to the sources, is currently the only option available to the White House to continue military assistance to Ukraine. But there are significant problems in this regard.

"It usually takes several months for ammunition and equipment to reach Ukraine after an aid package is announced, so anything sent in the coming weeks will likely not arrive in full," the publication added.
