Here's What The Movie Is About
The plot of "Gladiator 2" unfolds 20 years after the events of the previous part and focuses on Lucius - the nephew of the Roman Emperor Commodus.
He was raised outside the Roman Empire by his mother Lucilla. Lucilla wanted to protect him, but the son feels a great resentment towards his mother and is hurt that she abandoned him far from home.
Now Lucius has a wife and child and lives a peaceful life until Roman invaders invade their territory. The troops are led by Marcus Acacius (played by Pedro Pascal), whose mentor was the gladiator Maximus, the protagonist of the first film.
Lucius becomes Marcus' prisoner and will have only two options - become a slave or die in the gladiatorial arena.
