The development of Google Pixel Tablet 2 has probably been cancelled, but some details about what could be in the new tablet have become known.
Here's What We Know
According to insider Kamila Wojciechowska, the tablet was supposed to have a screen with a refresh rate of 120 Hz and a 10% brighter display (2560 x 1600 pixels). It was also planned to increase the battery by 4% (up to 7200 mAh) and add support for 4K video via DisplayPort Alt Mode.
The cameras were to receive minor improvements, but not to the level of Pixel smartphone cameras. The tablet was to be powered by the Tensor G4 chip, which is less powerful than the new Pixel 9 models, but better than the G2 in the original Pixel Tablet.
To reduce the cost, Google used Integrated Package on Package (IPoP) technology, which reduces the size of the chip but can increase heat generation and reduce efficiency.
In addition, the Pixel Tablet 2 is expected to support 5G, GPS, and Thread, which are not available in the current tablet. However, it is currently unknown whether the Pixel tablet series will return in 2026.
