Rumour, insider or throw-in? Square Enix may unveil Final Fantasy IX remake at TGA 2024
Square Enix has long been rumoured to be developing a Final Fantasy IX remake. The company does not comment on this information, but, as fans of the series thought, back in the summer it indirectly hinted that it might be true in the Dawntrail add-on for Final Fantasy XIV: among the DLC bonuses the developers offered items in the style of Final Fantasy IX.
There is a possibility that in a few hours fans of the series will hear the long-awaited announcement!
Here's What We Know
On the 4chan forum, which has gained a dubious reputation, an anonymous tipster said that the announcement of the Final Fantasy IX remake will be made at The Game Awards 2024.
According to the anonymous informant, the game is being developed on Unreal Engine 5 and will be released on all major platforms at once: on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC in the summer of 2025.
It is stated that the audience will be shown a trailer, lasting 1.5 minutes, which will show the plot of the updated game and a few shots of gameplay.
