Samsung has come up with a smartphone Galaxy Z Flip, the screen of which folds in two directions
Samsung already has several different models of foldable smartphones, but their screen fold inward - it's safer and more reliable. But the company is looking for other
How it works
Such a device is described in a patent that was filed to the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) last October. The documentation was published the other day, and the publication LetsGoDigital showed how such a smartphone might look like.
So, it is similar to the Galaxy Z Flip. The display can fold both inward and outward, for which, of course, it is necessary to work well on the hinge.
In addition, the patent describes a dual front camera (without flash, as it uses display light) and an under-screen fingerprint scanner. You won't find the letter one in any other folding smartphone, as scanners in such devices are located on the side mostly.
But for now, this is just a patent, and we do not know if Samsung decides to bring this idea to life. To our mind, it is unlikely, as there is no need in such a design. Moreover, such a smartphone is likely to be fragile and expensive.
