Fleets are done: Twitter will give up its Instagram Stories analogue
The developers of Twitter, eight months after the release of Fleets, announced the closure of this feature.
What we know
Twitter Fleets is analogous to Instagram Stories. That is, short videos that were displayed at the top of the social network. Due to low demand, the company decided to remove them. Fleets will be disabled for all users on August 3rd. Instead, they will display Spaces audio rooms, which the company borrowed from Clubhouse.

we're sorry or you're welcome
By the way, after the removal of Fleets, Twitter plans to keep some editing tools. For example, the ability to format text, as well as add stickers and GIF animations to images.
We hoped Fleets would encourage more people to join the conversation, but that wasn't the case. So we're removing them and focusing on improving other parts of Twitter.
