Wedbush analyst Daniel Ives said the company sold about 40 million iPhone 13 smartphones over the holiday season. still exceeds the offer.

“Based on our inspections of the supply chain over the past few weeks, we believe that demand exceeds Apple's supply by about 12 million units in the December quarter, which will now add tailwinds for Cupertino in the March and June quarters as the supply chain grows,” says in the analyst's note to investors.

China has been a major source of strength for Apple over the past 12 months and a key region for iPhone sales, Ives said.
