Oxford University professor Mike Wooldridge is urging users to be careful not to reveal sensitive personal information to ChatGPT and other chatbots.

Here's What We Know

According to the professor, it is "extremely unwise". All information provided by users is used to train future versions of the chatbot, he reminded.

"You should assume that anything you type into ChatGPT is just going to be fed directly into future versions of ChatGPT" Wooldridge noted.

Given the working principles of such models, it is almost impossible to get your data back, he emphasised.

The expert also believes that the technology ChatGPT "tells you what you want to hear" and you should not expect from it weighted answers. Also, AI has no empathy and sympathy towards people.

Thus, by sharing personal information, users risk facing unpleasant consequences in the future. The professor urges caution when communicating with ChatGPT.
