Ukraine has officially confirmed the destruction of four Russian Il-76 military transport aircraft worth more than $200 million

Russian residents and media wrote about the damage to four Il-76 military transport aircraft. In the morning, Andriy Yusov, a spokesman for the General Directorate of Intelligence of the Ukrainian Defence Ministry, confirmed the destruction of four Il-76s. Several more aircraft were damaged.

The distance from Ukraine to Pskov is about 700 kilometres. The 76th Guards Airborne Assault Division is stationed here. It took part in the occupation of Bucha, Kyiv region from 3 to 31 March 2022.

As for the IL-76, this aircraft is used to transport military equipment up to 4,200 kilometres. The payload capacity is up to 60,000 tonnes. The cost of one aircraft is estimated at about $52 million, but according to some reports, it could exceed $80 million.
