Not just the Netherlands, Denmark and Norway: Belgium will also hand over F-16 Fighting Falcon fighters to Ukraine, but as soon as it receives F-35 Lightning IIs
It has recently become known that Belgium will train Ukrainian pilots on F-16 Fighting Falcon fighter jets, but has no plans to transfer the aircraft to Ukraine. It seems that the country's government has changed its decision.
Here's What We Know
Belgian Defence Minister Ludivine Dedonder said that Belgium has decided to supply the US 4th generation fighters to the Ukrainian Armed Forces after all. The number of aircraft has not been disclosed yet.
Unfortunately, the deliveries should not be expected in the near future. They are planned to start only in 2025 after the Belgian army will receive the fifth-generation F-35 Lightning II fighters. By the way, apart from Belgium, Ukraine will also receive F-16 Fighting Falcon fighters from the Netherlands, Denmark and Norway.
