Despite ejection seats problems, the 5th generation of F-35 fighters continue to be extremely popular in the US.

What we know

The United States has allocated more than $7.6 billion to buy 129 aircraft manufactured by Lockheed Martin. It should be noted that part of the fifth generation fighters will be manufactured outside the U.S. - in the UK.

The U.S. Air Force will receive the most aircraft under the contract - 49 fighters F-35A. Lockheed Martin will supply 10 of the F-35C and three F-35B Marine Corps. Fifteen fighters will go to the Navy.

Contractors who are not part of the U.S. Department of Defense will receive 32 F-35A and four F-35B. Finally, 16 more fifth-generation fighters will be shipped to overseas customers.

The U.S. was forced to ground almost all of its F-35 aircraft because of ejection problems. In Denmark, the malfunction was found in two planes. But Israel claimed that all the fighters were successfully tested and returned to their missions.

It is also worth noting that in July the U.S. claimed a $30 billion contract to buy 375 F-35s. It later became known that the fifth-generation fighters would go to Czech Republic, Norway и Germany.
