News, Reviews, Articles on CD Projekt RED
Although The Witcher 4 is still a long way off, the game has already attracted a lot of attention, especially after the State of Unreal presentation. The developers are aiming to create the "most ambitious open-world Witcher game ever", but have not revealed many details about the quests so far. Fortunately, narrative director Philipp Weber confirmed that the game will not feature so-called "fetch quests".
As part of the game's 10th anniversary celebrations, CD Projekt RED spoke to GamesRadar about what made their quests so special. Maturity was named as the main component, and this is not surprising, as most of the developers, according to quest designer Paweł Sasko, were aged 30-40. But there is another, perhaps more unexpected factor: their Polish nationality.
Historically, the Polish studio has always focused on the PC versions of its games and then "adjusted" them for consoles. However, experience has shown that this strategy has not always been successful. Just think of the criticism from fans about the "deterioration" of graphics in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt before release, or the well-known problems with Cyberpunk 2077 on PS4 and Xbox One at launch. Now, with The Witcher 4, the studio has changed course: they are focusing primarily on developing the game for consoles.
The DLC is allegedly being developed by the authors of The Thaumaturge
CD Projekt Red has recognised the huge success of its colleagues in the genre, and this will have a direct impact on the long-awaited The Witcher 4. After the era of dominance of The Witcher 3, the world saw new masterpieces such as Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 and Baldur's Gate 3, which have gained worldwide recognition. Now, it seems that CDPR is looking to integrate the best elements of these hits into their next game to raise the bar once again.
What will patch 2.3 surprise gamers with?
Recently, CD Projekt Red took to the stage during the State of Unreal presentation to demonstrate the technical capabilities of the upcoming The Witcher 4 game, which is being developed on Unreal Engine 5. In a segment that lasted a few minutes, CDPR representatives took the audience through the world of The Witcher 4, demonstrating what seemed to be our first look at the gameplay of this open-world RPG. But it's not that simple.
Get ready, residents of Knight City. Another update for Cyberpunk 2077 is on the horizon. The source of these rumours is the extremely interesting findings in gameplay footage from the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 version of the game. CD Projekt Red is probably preparing a pleasant surprise for all platforms.
In front of us, without exaggeration, a game of a new generation!
The video shows an incredible level of graphics!

At the same time, the studio shared its plans for the future, emphasising the importance of focusing on its "niche" - large, story-driven open-world RPGs.
