Marvel's Spider-Man 2 will support 30, 40, and 60 FPS with RTX enabled
Marvel's Spider-Man 2 is probably the most anticipated game for PlayStation 5 right now. This is not surprising, as it is the sequel to the cult Marvel's Spider-Man 2018, which has gained millions of fans. Insomniac Games has published a new trailer for the game, which demonstrates the various features available in the open world of New York. One of the key features is the support for different frames per second:
Here's What We Know
In a recent interview with IGN, Chief Technology Officer Mike Fitzgerald confirmed that Marvel's Spider-Man 2 will run at 30, 40 and 60 frames per second, as well as support variable refresh rates (VRR) and 120Hz:
"The foundation for how we decide to render things is we like to have our resolution be dynamic, and then we have a pretty robust temporal anti-aliasing solution that lets us scale that up and down, do different dithering effects with materials and things in the scene."
"And what that means is we get to leverage, we get to take the players’ preference about how they want to play the game and also make sure we use all the features of their display in the console as well. So whether you have VRR television, 120Hz TV, whether you like playing at 60fps or 30 or 40, if you have 120hz TV, we get to tailor everything to best utilize that tech.”
When We Can Expect It
Marvel's Spider-Man 2 will be released on the 20th of October for PlayStation 5.
