The developers of popular survival simulator The Long Dark released the trailer of the first paid add-on Tales from the Far Territory.
The add-on provides a really great amount of innovations.
With the release of Tales from the Far Territory the following content will appear in the game:
- New large-scale locations, which will include a railroad track. It can be made into a temporary shelter from which it is easy to go to an abandoned airfield or an industrial mine;
- Tales will appear, which will reveal the history of the Far Territory;
- developers will introduce several new gameplay mechanics, including flickering fog, insomnia, errant shortwave signals, improved cooking, the ability to personalize your shelter, and more;
- new animals and birds;
- an immersive photo mode in which the main character manifests the pictures he's taken.
Tales from the Far Territory will also change the weapons and gadgets that already exist in the game, some of which will have their own story. Unique items will be hidden in the game's locations.
Here's What We Know
Free updates for The Long Dark will continue to be released, but their scale will be slightly reduced.
When We Can Expect It
Tales from the Far Territory will be released on December 5 on PC, and on consoles the DLC is expected in early 2023.
