Jason Schreier: Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League has not yet received a new release date. The game may be released in 2024, but its structure will not change
After it became known that Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League would feature microtransactions, players were outraged and expressed their dissatisfaction with the developers. Then some gaming journalists started writing that the game was postponed and would be released at the end of 2023. Rockstedy has not officially commented on all this, but the situation is getting more and more complicated.
Here's What We Know
According to Jason Schreier, Rocksteady has not yet announced a delay in development, possibly because there is still no new release date. A few weeks ago, employees were told that Suicide Squad would be released later this year, but they still do not know when exactly. Perhaps it will be 2024, but one thing seems certain: the essence of the game is not changing.
That is, no one will be remaking Kill the Justice League into a full-fledged story game. It will be a service game, which, as practice shows with Gotham Knights and Marvel's Avengers, can fail. At the same time, Guardians of the Galaxy and Marvel's Spider-Man show that gamers are more interested in story-oriented superhero games than in projects where you need to save hundreds of hours for a new costume. Therefore, the fate of the future Rocksteady game is mysterious and not optimistic.
