Media: UK regulators set to approve Microsoft and Activision Blizzard merger
This coming Wednesday - 26 April - the UK Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) will deliver its final verdict in the proceedings over the potential implications of the deal between Microsoft and Activision Blizzard.
Recall that in a preliminary ruling, UK regulators supported the merger of the two giants and it looks like the final conclusion will remain the same.
Here's What We Know
According to the Financial Times, the CMA will approve the deal despite Sony's vociferous protests.
The story of merger between Microsoft and Activision Blizzard has dragged on somewhat, and a positive verdict from the British will be a serious argument in the confrontation between Microsoft and Sony and help to finally complete the process if Microsoft persuade the United States Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and the European Union antitrust authorities to support the deal.
