European Competition Commission approves deal between Microsoft and Activision Blizzard
The European Anti-Monopoly Commission has announced its decision to review the deal between Microsoft and Activision Blizzard.
Here's What We Know
European regulators have concluded that the merger of the two American giants will not harm the games industry.
EU experts noted that Microsoft has concluded long-term contracts with cloud services and gaming companies demonstrate that the corporation has no plans to monopolize the games of Activision Blizzard. That is why European regulators see no reason to ban the deal.
For Phil Spencer's team, this is a big win. Now they just need to convince the US Federal Trade Commission (FTC) of their case and try to challenge the UK's Competition and Markets Authority (CMA), which recently refused to agree to the deal.
