China backs Microsoft and Activision Blizzard merger

Editorial board IGN has received official confirmation from Microsoft that Chinese authorities have approved the US company's deal with Activision Blizzard.

Here's What We Know

China has become the thirty-seventh country to support the merger of the two giants.

The main opponents of the deal remain the UK and the US Federal Trade Commission (FTC). And while Microsoft is preparing an appeal against a negative decision by the UK Competition and Markets Authority (CMA), the proceedings with the FTC have not yet begun.
