In a new blog post presenting the new season, Blizzard announced that access to story missions will cost players $15.

Here's What We Know

Three story missions will be included in the season, but to get access to them, players will have to purchase the Overwatch 2: Invasion package for $15. In addition to access to the missions, you will also receive 1000 units of in-game currency, the legendary "Sojourn" skin, and permanent access to "Sojourn" as a playable character after completing the story missions.

The announcement was disappointing for players, especially after Blizzard announced last month that it was cancelling the Hero PvE mode, in which players would defend cities from robot invaders and receive new customisation options and attack modifications.

The Hero mode was one of the main features that Blizzard emphasised during the official announcement of Overwatch 2 back in 2019, attaching to it the importance of story-based PvE content.
