Square Enix employees asked the head of Final Fantasy to create a remake of Final Fantasy 6

It has become known that Square Enix employees have approached the Final Fantasy brand manager with a question about the possibility of creating a remake of Final Fantasy 6.

Here's What We Know

During the official roundtable dedicated to the 35th anniversary of the Final Fantasy series, the brand manager and producer of Final Fantasy 7 Remake, Yoshinori Kitase, spoke about the potential remake of Final Fantasy 6:

"I think it's going to be a challenge to make a Final Fantasy 6 remake. Given that Final Fantasy 7 Remake is not yet complete, it is difficult for me to discuss it. However, there are many Final Fantasy 6 fans in the company who often ask me: 'When will we see a remake of 6?

The creator of the Final Fantasy series, Hironobu Sakaguchi, who also took part in the discussion, explained that remaking Final Fantasy 6 would be a challenge due to its pixel-based nature rather than 3D graphics. He noted that changing the story and reimagining the game in 3D would require a lot of work.

Final Fantasy 6 was originally released on the SNES in 1994 and later ported to the PlayStation in 1999 and Game Boy Advance in 2006.
