An insider has revealed important details about Nintendo's new console. The device will have larger storage capacity and LCD display
Insider Nate the Hate revealed details about Nintendo's new console in his podcast.
Here's What We Know
Nate the Hate spoke to unnamed sources close to the development and revealed that the next gaming device from the Japanese company will feature an 8-inch LCD display and will have 512GB of internal storage. The increased storage capacity will help release more demanding and complex games than were released on Switch.
Nate the Hate's sources claim that the changes will also affect the cartridges. Perhaps 3D NAND technology will be used in their production, potentially improving performance and data access speeds.
As for backwards compatibility, there's no definitive information: one developer told Nate the Hate that the new console will support this option, but no one else has shared any such information.
The Nintendo Switch 2 console (the name is tentative) is believed to be released in late 2024. It will probably be officially announced at gamescom 2023.
