Class action lawsuit: Apple accused of monopolising cloud storage for its devices
A class action lawsuit was filed in a Northern California court against Apple. It is accused of monopolising cloud storage for its devices.
Here's What We Know
According to data provided by Bloomberg Law, the plaintiffs claim that Apple has artificially created disproportionate conditions of competition to ensure the dominance of its iCloud product. The cloud storage covers tens of millions of users in the US. According to the complaint, Apple has restricted other cloud providers through technological limitations that allow only iCloud to provide a full range of storage services to users of its devices.
The complainants also emphasise that iCloud is not superior to other cloud storage platforms in terms of security and functionality. According to them, Apple has achieved market dominance and created unfair conditions for competition.
The case has just been filed and has not yet been granted class action status. However, anyone who believes they are eligible to participate in the case can visit Hagens Berman's website for more information.
