Titanium iPhone 15 Pro Max fails durability test (video)

Almost immediately after the official launch of sales (22 September), famous blogger JerryRigEverything received a brand new iPhone 15 Pro Max to put it to the test with his traditional methods.

Here's What's New About It

Unlike previous generations, the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max - Apple A17 Pro, Super Retina XDR display with ProMotion, USB-C and record thin bezels priced from $999 get a side frame made of titanium. This is a grade 5 titanium alloy that is known for its strength and durability. As the test showed, this can't be said about scratch resistance: the titanium frame is very easy to scratch with a knife and other sharp objects.

The most interesting was the pressure test. When the blogger tried to bend the smartphone, the rear glass almost instantly cracked and covered with "cobwebs". Unexpectedly, the phone itself did not bend, the titanium frame withstood the pressure, but the glass did not. We don't know if the new frame is to blame, but previous iPhones didn't behave like this. Moreover, it seems that none of today's smartphones were so fragile in this test.
