Watch out, nostalgia is assured! An amazing 11-year-old photo of Sheldon and Amy from "The Big Bang Theory" broke fans' hearts

Recently, a photo from "The Big Bang Theory" was released that made viewers nostalgic for a young Sheldon and Amy back when they were dating. This shot of Sheldon (Jim Parsons) and Amy (Mayim Bialik) performing ADR (dubbing recording) 11 years ago made everyone reminisce about their youth.

Here's What We Know

It's been four years since the popular sitcom came to an end, but it continues to be among the favourites thanks to airing on TV channels and streaming platforms. Additionally, "The Big Bang Theory" franchise continues to live on thanks to its spin-off "Young Sheldon," which features adult versions of Sheldon and Amy in the form of voice actors only.

The photo was posted by Bialik on her official Instagram page.

In the photo, Bialik and Parsons appear to be doing ADR recording. In a comment, the actress revealed that the photo was taken 11 years ago, which, based on Bialik's timeline, probably happened during the filming of The Big Bang Theory's sixth season, which came out in 2012 - 11 years ago. For context, it's worth considering that network shows start filming months before new seasons premiere, in order to have time to shoot a few episodes in advance and avoid a frantic work schedule.

Season six of "The Big Bang Theory" proved to be a pivotal moment in Sheldon and Amy's romance. The couple enters their fourth season together, and the sitcom shows great strides in their relationship. The famous episode where Amy falls ill and Sheldon begins to care for her occurs during this period. It's funny and touching, especially because it shows Sheldon's willingness to care for his girlfriend, despite the fact that he's not known for caring much. It's also the beginning of a period where Amy becomes more assertive in their relationship, pushing the idea of living together.

At this point, the chances of seeing Parsons and Bialik in the roles of Sheldon and Amy back on screen as part of a revival of "The Big Bang Theory" are extremely slim. Nevertheless, CBS could easily arrange for the actors to reunite as part of "Young Sheldon." After all, both of them have already appeared on that show as voicing characters. Or maybe the network will finally show them in the spin-off finale series.
