Captain Jack Sparrow! Pirates of the Caribbean 6 without Johnny Depp scandal, angry fans and the hashtag #NoJohnnyNoPirates

A potential reboot of the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise without star Johnny Depp has caused a storm of outrage in the online community, starting the hashtag #NoJohnnyNoPirates.

Here's What We Know

"The Last of Us" creator Craig Mazin recently hinted at a "weird" script he developed for "Pirates of the Caribbean 6." Mazin then confirmed that filming on the project could begin after the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes are over. Mazin's statements did not include any mention of Johnny Depp, who was previously reported to be out of the film.

Now "Pirates of the Caribbean" fans are rebelling online over Johnny Depp's absence in the franchise's sequel. Under the hashtag #NoJohnnyNoPirates, Twitter users are threatening to boycott the film if it comes out in cinemas.

In their Twitter profiles, angry at the cancellation of Johnny Depp, fans began to celebrate Disney and threaten that they will not come to the cinemas if Captain Jack Sparrow does not return to the screens. Also, viewers are posting various photos of Depp as the Captain and backing everything up with the hashtag #NoJohnnyNoPirates.

Prior to Johnny Depp's defamation trial by his ex-wife Amber Heard, it was thought that he would definitely return to the role of Jack Sparrow in the Pirates of the Caribbean sequel. Depp has since revealed that he was fired from "Pirates of the Caribbean 6" despite being wanted back, especially after Heard was found guilty in court.

Disney has yet to comment on the matter, and based on Mazin's statement, it seems that "Pirates of the Caribbean 6" will continue without Depp after all. Hopefully, fan outrage may force Disney to make a different decision. If they have any clout, a revolt for the return of Captain Jack Sparrow is the way to go.
