Media: film company New Regency has begun work on a film adaptation of the acclaimed video game Watch Dogs
The trend of screen adaptations of popular video games continues.
Of course, this trend could not bypass one of the most famous Ubisoft games - hacker action Watch Dogs.
Here's What We Know
As reported by Deadline, the film company New Regency begins work on a film based on Watch Dogs. In the near future will start casting, but it is already known that the main role is claimed Sophie Wilde - the star of the horror film "Talk To Me".
The film will be directed by French director Mathieu Turi, and the script was written by Christie LeBlanc, with support from Victoria Bata.
It is still unknown how much the plot of the film will correspond to the Watch Dogs games, but if the audience is expecting a film adaptation of the first part of the game, the story will be set in Chicago in the near future, where all infrastructure and city services are subordinated to the ctOS system, and citizens are under constant surveillance.
Note, in the original story of the game the main character was Aiden Pearce, but probably the scriptwriters plan to put a female hacker in his place. At the same time, do not exclude that the film script will be completely independent and not tied to Ubisoft games.
