OnePlus recently announced that its new flagship OnePlus 11 has become the first smartphone to receive software updates for 5 years. As it turns out, this doesn't just apply to the flagship, but also to the OnePlus 11R.

Previously, OnePlus had only promised updates for the OnePlus 11. But now the company's support team, responding to a user's question on social media, has officially confirmed that the extended support programme extends to the OnePlus 11R as well.

We're talking about four Android operating system updates and security patches over 5 years. That is, smartphones will definitely get Android 14, Android 15, Android 16 and Android 17.
Incidentally, brands like Google, Samsung and OPPO have long offered four years of software updates for some phones. But the OnePlus 11R is in the mid-price segment (it costs around $500), so the longer software update cycle makes it a better value proposition.
