Ukrainian Armed Forces show rare video of US JDAM smart bombs being used

The Ukrainian Defence Forces have filmed the result of the use of JDAM smart bombs. With their help they managed to destroy the position of Russian troops.

Here's What We Know

The Armed Forces of Ukraine struck two JDAM bombs on a multi-storey building in the village of Urozhaynoye, Donetsk region. Now part of it is in the grey zone, although as recently as last week the entire village was under Russian control.

JDAM is an acronym for Joint Direct Attack Munition. The kit consists of wings and a tail unit. It allows turning conventional aerial munitions into smart bombs, improving accuracy and range.

The aerodynamic equipment is compatible with bombs weighing 230-960kg. At the moment it is known for sure that the Armed Forces of Ukraine use 230-kilogram munitions. Also recently published photos demonstrating the presence in the Ukrainian combat aviation modification JDAM-ER with a launch range of up to 75 kilometres.
