Unique video of Ukrainian drone strike on Il-76 military transport aircraft on Russian territory published

The day before, The War Zone published satellite photos taken by PLANET LABS INC showing a Russian airport in the Pskov region with Il-76 aircraft. Recently, it was attacked by Ukrainian drones, and now, a unique video of the attack has appeared.

Here's What We Know

The video was published by Ukrainian volunteer Sergey Sternenko. As it turned out, the operation of the General Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine used drones, for which the Ukrainians collected money. Moreover, earlier the Ukrainian authorities said that the UAVs were launched from the territory of Russia.

The report by Serhiy Sternenko said that two Il-76 military transport aircraft were destroyed and two more were damaged. Several other aircraft were also hit, but details are not specified. Earlier, the Russians wrote about damage to a Tu-22M3 bomber-rocket carrier, but this information is not confirmed.

On 30 August 2023, the most massive attack on the territory of the Russian Federation took place. Kamikaze drones did not attack not only the airport 700 kilometres from Ukraine. Drones were detected in several regions of russia.
