Steam is 20 years old! Valve celebrates the anniversary of its shop and recalls the main events in the history of Steam, as well as gives gifts to users
It's hard to imagine a gamer's life without Steam.
It's hard to believe it, but today Steam celebrates its birthday - it is 20 years old!
Here's What We Know
On the 12th of September 2003 the program for launching and updating Counter Strike 1.6 was released, which was called Steam.
At first the program was not popular and was criticised, but the developers did not give up and worked on it, and now Steam is installed on almost every computer and provides gamers with a huge range of features and services.
Valve congratulates gamers and themselves on the twentieth anniversary of the service and has prepared a brief retrospective of the most significant events in the history of the application.
All Steam users will receive a free profile background with anniversary art, as well as several avatars and stickers, and those dinosaurs who registered in Steam twenty years ago will receive special badges with the anniversary number.
The popularity of Steam is only growing every year and the Gagadget editorial team wishes Valve a worthy celebration of the service's 50th anniversary!
