SEGA has cancelled development of the nearly completed online shooter HYENAS from Creative Assembly studio. The publisher begins a global restructuring of the business

British studio Creative Assembly, known for the series of popular strategies Total War, has been working on the network shooter HYENAS for the last few years and even managed to conduct several stages of its testing. The game is almost ready and was planned for release in 2023.

But it is not destined to come true.

Here's What We Know

The company SEGA Sammy, which owns Creative Assembly, is conducting a global restructuring of its European business and decided to close the development of HYENAS.

SEGA explained this decision by the instability of the European market and falling revenues. A number of other studios' projects have also been cancelled.

According to VGC portal, Creative Assembly's troubles will not be limited to the cancellation of HYENAS, as there is a wave of layoffs planned.
