One of the creators of Call of Duty Black Ops has started his own studio and is already working on an ambitious shooter
Experienced developer David Vonderhaar, who worked on all parts of Call of Duty from Treyarch studio, founded his own company, where he plans to continue working in his favourite genre.
Here's What We Know
The studio is called BulletFarm and is based in Los Angeles, but the management plans to emphasise on remote work. BulletFarm currently employs just four people, and will expand to 15 by the end of the year.
David Vonderhaar has secured the support of the Chinese corporation NetEase, so we can assume that the lack of budget for game development BulletFarm will not threaten.
It is known that the studio is already working on its first big-budget first-person shooter. Vonderhaar states that his project does not aim to follow the new-fangled trends of game-services, which have already bored most gamers, but will provide a more old-fashioned approach.
It's unlike games I've worked on before, but still emphasises my passion for rich characters, precise mechanics, more heartfelt storytelling and plenty of action. NetEase has provided us with an incredible support structure to explore new horizons, and offered real freedom in concepts and ideas for our game.
The game's creative lead will be Chris Cowell, another experienced game designer from Treyarch.
BulletFarm has published the first art of its game.
