The head of Xbox commented on the departure of Jim Ryan from the position of head of the PlayStation brand. Phil Spencer thanked his colleague for his contribution to the development of the gaming industry
The whole gamer community is actively discussing the unexpected resignation of Jim Ryan as the head of PlayStation and CEO of Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE).
The main competitor of Jim Ryan Phil Spencer left his comment about his dismissal.
Here's What We Know
The head of Xbox thanked Jim Ryan for his contribution to the development and shaping of the gaming community and his active work for 30 years.
Jim Ryan has been a great contributor to our industry and a fierce leader for PlayStation. I wish him the best in what he does next. Thank you for all you've done for the community over the last 30 years, Jim.
- Phil Spencer (@XboxP3) September 28, 2023
Spencer wished his colleague all the best ... but considering how many nerves Jim Ryan has ruined over the past two years with his acquisition of Activision Blizzard, it's hard to believe Spencer didn't pop open a bottle of champagne as soon as he heard the news of the PlayStation chief's decision.
Ryan will step down on April 1, 2024 and will be replaced by Sony Group President and COO Hiroki Totoki.
