India has received Israeli Rampage aeroballistic missiles with a 150kg warhead and a range of over 250km for MiG-29K fighters
At the end of last year, there was information about India's intention to purchase Israeli Rampage missiles. It seems that deliveries have already begun.
Here's What We Know
Last week a photograph of a Rampage missile was published. The location of the photo is Hansa Airbase (Hansa), which is the home of the Indian Navy's flight test squadron. A MiG-29K fighter can be seen in the background, although it was originally said that the Israeli missiles would be carried by Su-30MKI aircraft.
Rampage was developed by Elbit Systems and Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI). IAI is the primary manufacturer. The 4.7 metre long munition is equipped with a 150 kg warhead and has a launch range of over 250 km, but this parameter depends on the speed of the carrier.
Rampage is an aeroballistic missile, i.e. an air-launched ballistic missile. A similar solution is the Russian development of the Kh-47M2. In case of Rampage, the EXTRA ballistic missile is taken as a basis.
