Ukraine received NASAMS surface-to-air missile systems from the United States and Norway last year. The system uses AIM-120 AMRAAM air-to-air missiles modified for use from ground launchers.
NASAMS can shoot down cruise missiles, aircraft, helicopters and unmanned aerial vehicles. The interceptor has a launch range of 40 kilometres and an altitude of 20 kilometres.
The new pair of launchers will be integrated into the control units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. They will expand the capabilities of NASAMS air defence systems. This was announced by Lithuanian Defence Minister Arvydas Anušauskas.
