SpaceX kept the price of the Starlink hardware kit at $599, but added a next-generation antenna and a router with Wi-Fi 6
SpaceX has upgraded its Starlink satellite internet equipment set. Users' hopes for a price reduction were not fulfilled. But it is pleasing that the cost has not increased.
Here's What We Know
The equipment kit now includes a new generation antenna and a router with Wi-Fi 6 support. The cost was $599. The company announced this to its customers through an email newsletter.
The updated kit will be available to a limited number of users for now. Later, SpaceX will release it for wide sale. By the way, the company sells a third-generation router with Wi-Fi 6 for $199.
In the case of the new antenna, there is only fixed placement as the company has abandoned the use of an electric motor. The email indicates that the dish is slimmer and sleeker. One user wrote on Reddit that the dimensions of the antenna have increased compared to the last generation.
