Ukrspecsystems has modernised the Ukrainian SHARK reconnaissance drone, increasing its range to 80 km

The Ukrainian Defence Forces use domestically produced SHARK drones for reconnaissance, surveillance and fire correction. Recently, the Ukrspecsystems company was able to increase the UAV's range by a third.

Here's What We Know

Introduced in 2022, SHARK has a range of 300 kilometres and can stay in the air for four hours at a speed of 75 km/h. The drone has a maximum speed of 130 km/h and a minimum speed of 60 km/h.

The first version of SHARK could be 60 kilometres away from the control station. As a result of modernisation, Ukrspecsystems specialists were able to increase the range of communication transmission by one third. Now the range of the reconnaissance drone is 80 kilometres.

SHARK is often used together with HIMARS. For example, we recently wrote how the drone was used to destroy the launcher and targeting station of the Buk-M2 surface-to-air missile system. Two weeks earlier a Buk-M2 self-propelled launcher was hit.
