Rheinmetall confirmed that it will transfer Luna NG reconnaissance drones to the AFU
The other day we wrote that Ukraine was to receive modern German Luna NG drones (NG means Next Generation). Now this has been confirmed by the manufacturing company.
Here's What We Know
Rheinmetall will supply the drones, and the German government will finance the project. The amount of the contract and the number of UAVs are not yet called. It is only known that the delivery of drones should begin at the end of 2023.
Flashback
Luna NG is a modular reconnaissance UAV made by German company Rheinmetall. One drone complex includes the UAV itself, a MAN military truck, a ground control station and a catapult. Luna NG can stay in the air for more than 12 hours. In addition, it is capable of intercepting and jamming communications, as well as transmitting information at a distance of more than 100 kilometres. The maximum flight altitude of the UAV is 5 kilometres. The drone is powered by a low-noise two-stroke engine.
