New XQ-67A jet drone tested in the US

General Atomics Aeronautical Systems has conducted a test flight of the XQ-67A advanced jet UAV.

Here's What We Know

The drone was developed as part of the OBSS (Off-Board Sensing Station) programme funded by the US Air Force

The XQ-67A was designed to be relatively cheap to produce with great potential for modernisation. It is planned to develop both strike and reconnaissance types of drones on its basis.

According to the programme manager, this will provide an alternative approach to the procurement of real aircraft and will speed up development and reduce costs.

Technical specifications have not been disclosed to date.
